We recommend the following sights

Museums and nature

Visit the Saarland clock museum in "Uhrmachers Haus" in the vicinity of our holiday apartment.
You can also visit the Mining Open Air Museum uphill.

Another wonderful and relatively new landmark of the Saarland is the Saar polygon.
It should be reminiscent of mining in the Saarland. You can reach the polygon in about 20 minutes by car and climb it over the footpath and enjoy the view over the Saarland.
If you want to enjoy a view over Köllerbach and Püttlingen, then we can recommend the mountain dump of the Grube Viktoria in Püttlingen. Approx. You can reach this artificial mountain within 20 minutes on foot from our studio.
Ask us for directions.

Bucherbach Castle

Bucherbach Castle in Köllerbach can be reached on foot in about 5 minutes.
With the free audio guide , you can be transported back in time and explore life in the castle.

We can particularly recommend the regular medieval markets, the annual wine festival or the wonderful Christmas market in Bucherbach Castle.
Just ask us, we will find out if something happens during your visit! or you can find out more on the website of the city of Püttlingen

You can find more information on the homepage of the Burg Bucherbach eV community of interests

Martinskirche

The historic Martinskirche is also within walking distance and not far from Bucherbach Castle. First mentioned in a document in 1223, it is one of the oldest churches in Saarland . We find the frescoes, which were discovered during restoration work in the choir room in 1956, particularly impressive.

Our "Wiesepädsche"

A very special path, the Köllertaler Pädsche, connects Köllerbach with many different cities around. The local band "Engelfanger" even dedicates its own song to the Wiesepädsche.

For a few years now, great water buffalo, Scottish highland cattle and Hungarian steppe cattle have also settled here. Forest sheep and heather sheep have also settled with them.
Herons, beavers and other animals have also been sighted.

If you have bicycles with you, you can drive as far as the Saar to Völklingen and from there along the Saar to Saarbrücken or Saarlouis. Definitely a great way to get around in the Köllertal!

Saarschleife and
Treetop Walk

What would a visit to Saarland be without marveling at the wonderful Windows desktop background?

You can either enjoy the beautiful Saarschleife directly from the historic Cloef or walk the newly built treetop path and marvel at the natural wonder from high above.

On the way back you can also make a nice stop in Mettlach. There is the old Mettlach abbey brewery, where you can not only enjoy delicious Saarland food, but also home-brewed beer. The headquarters of Villeroy & Boch is also located there, so that you can visit the factory outlet there if necessary.
